Privacy Policy
Who are we?
The party responsible for this website is the European Cooperative Programme for Plant Genetic Resources (ECPGR), hosted at the Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT). Our address is Via di San Domenico, 1, 00153 Rome, Italy. You can contact us by post at the above address or by email at ecpgr@cgiar.org
Do we collect personal data on this website?
This website does not use general contact forms, user accounts, or newsletter sign-ups. The only form on this site is the registration form for the COLiBRI Stakeholder Community, through which we collect personal data for that specific purpose. Registration for the Stakeholder Community is governed by a separate notice, the COLiBRI Stakeholder Community Privacy Notice, which is provided to you at the point of registration and explains what data is collected, why, and your rights over it.
Aside from this registration form, you can browse the website without providing any personal information, except where noted below regarding embedded YouTube videos.
Website analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, GDPR-compliant analytics tool, to understand how visitors use our website (e.g. number of visits, pages viewed, general location by country). Plausible:
- Does not use cookies
- Does not collect or store IP addresses
- Does not track individuals across websites or devices
- Collects only aggregated, anonymous statistics
- Is hosted within the EU
Because no personal data or cookies are involved, no cookie consent banner is required for this tool. The legal basis for this processing, to the extent any data qualifies as personal, is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding and improving the website.
Embedded YouTube videos
Some pages on this website include embedded YouTube videos. When you view a page with an embedded video, YouTube (operated by Google) may set cookies and collect data about your device and viewing behaviour, particularly once you click play. This data processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller.
For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Map of stakeholder organisations
The website features a map displaying the name and location of organisations that are part of the COLiBRI Stakeholder Community. This is organisational information, not personal data. Organisations appear on the map only after providing their agreement, collected separately when they register for the Stakeholder Community, under the COLiBRI Stakeholder Community Privacy Notice. If your organisation wishes to be removed from the map, please contact us at ecpgr@cgiar.org

Please refer to the dedicated Cookie Policy
Links to other websites
This website may contain links to other websites, including project partner websites and social media. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices separately.
Data retention
As we do not collect personal data through this website (aside from the Stakeholder Community registration form, covered by its own notice), no personal data is retained by us. Aggregated, anonymous analytics data is retained by Plausible in accordance with its own data retention practices. Data collected by YouTube is retained according to Google's own policies.
Your rights
If you have registered for the Stakeholder Community, your rights over that data are set out in the COLiBRI Stakeholder Community Privacy Notice. For all other use of this website, since we do not process personal data about you directly, most data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, etc.) do not apply. Where YouTube processes data as an independent controller, you can exercise your rights directly with Google. If you believe we hold personal data about you in error, you can contact us at ecpgr@cgiar.org
Your right to complain
If you have a complaint about our use of your information, we would prefer you to contact us directly in the first instance so that we can address your complaint. However, you can also contact the Italian Data Protection Authority via their website at garanteprivacy.it or write to them at: Piazza Venezia, 11 – 00187 Rome, Italy.
